Because it is January, I need to restock the emergency singing time plan that I keep in the closet at the church. These large snowflakes are mounted and laminated with a magnet on the back for posting on the chalkboard. I've prepared a "What Song Am I?" riddle for the back of each and will leave them in the closet in case I'm sick or snowed-in this month. How do you all prepare for emergencies?

Great Idea. I am going to be out of town one Sunday. This would be an easy activity for my sub. Are you willing to share your riddles for the back?
I am happy to share the riddles, I should have done that but just didn't think about it. You may not want to use the songs I chose, but I am happy to share. It will take me a couple of days to get back to the library to post them, however. I apologize.
Pictionary is one of the children's favorite games. But I never play it with them myself. I save it for when I need a sub. Each class picks their favorite song (or a song relating to the theme that month), takes turn drawing a picture of it on the chalkboard, and then the primary sings it. This takes absolutely no preparation other than getting some chalk out of the closet.
p.s. I would love to know what your riddles are, too. Maybe I could go the extra mile and create one of these for our primary closet, too.
The snowflakes are a great idea. We don't get a lot of snow, so snow activities are always really popular. Thanks!

Did you make the snowflakes? They look absolutely perfect. How do you make them? I would love the riddles also. Thank you for all of your enlightening ideas. I love all of them. You are very talented.
I did make the snowflakes. I just used regular white paper to cut the snowflakes. Then, I used just a bit of glue to tack them to posterboard and then I laminated it all and cut out near the edges. I use magnets on the back and tape the riddles on, so that I can change them if I wish.

I just found your blog and have loaded into my google reader! Thank you so much! I am going to do these snowflakes next week! They are great! Yours look perfect! Mine will probably look like the sunbeams did them... but I am sure they will work just the same!
